Definition of Free: Nothing

Somebody has to pay for it.

  1. Wonder how the people who think they are entitled feel about this? lol

  2. KBF: I am entitled. I started working when I was thirteen and I feel entitled to what I have earned for my family.

  3. JJ: as far as entitled, I meant the spoiled brats who think they are entitled to everything and anything, 'just because'.. Not the hard worker who has strived and sweated... As far as your remark on Junipers: It must be a female thing...lol....

  4. Yes, Chrissy. I did take it the right way. I'm just a sarcastic guy. Yes, I thought it was a female thing, but I am smart enough not to say it!

  5. I could of said "men are from mars...." lol

  6. KBF: That brings back memories!

  7. Try tellin' that to people like my sister from the 'Entitlement Generation' who just spent her 'tax return' (she doesn't pay taxes) on a big new TV even though she's late on every bill she owes on... Grrrr! I really do wonder what we will do when the 'takers' finally get everything they want from the government and I am left with no freedom at all...

  8. 'Yellow Rose' Jasmine: I hope I'm not alone, but I have no intention of giving up my freedom. I will share my earnings with the needy, like crippled vets, the mentally handicapped, sick children, etc. I will not give it up for color TVs. By the way, I filed my return last week. I had to pay. I hope they send some of it to sick kids.

  9. I am most certainly entitled. I too have worked extremely hard for what I have. And I too had to pay big taxes. One of my favorite quotes is from Thomas Jefferson: “The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.”

So I really hope that my tax payment makes a difference to somebody, because it really hurt when it left my bank account.~Ames

It will be their undoing, our children and their children, unless they get a grasp on things now.

  10. Sadly there is always a price to pay for everything. But one keeps smiling and being happy ;-)) thank you for your lovely comment on my last post JJ, i hope your family is well and you enjoy a lovely weekend, dee ;-)

  11. I so agree with KBF's first comment, but now I'm curious about Juniper's comment???? I'm not such a fan of the term free (for obvious reasons) but I so enjoy free from within a thesaurus, munificent, clear, immune, bountiful, liberated, independent, open.....

  12. Now that I am over the fact that I never cease to be amazed at my sister's bad choices...
the OTHER definition of free- oh boy, you really don't want to get me started. I refer to myself as a 'freedom freak'. My friends all know that I am willing to give up A LOT to remain truly free- that includes security, money, time, etc.

  13. I totally agree with Ames. And I too have worked SO hard for everything I have. My first thought when I read your post was that love is free. Then I thought well, true love is given freely, but it takes work to keep it alive. The great news is how fun it is to "work," on a marriage :), Miriam@Meatless Meals For Meat Eaters

  14. Ames: I hear you. I hope it all goes to actually helping people in need.

Dee: Your attitude is second to none.

Karen: Juniper's comment was from her blog. It had nothing to do with this post. It just proved how unimaginative I really am.

'Yellow Rose' Jasmine: I hear you. Money means absolutely nothing to me. I just want to share it with people of my choice, since I earned it. I abhor government intervention in almost everything. I have no intention of becoming a slave.

Miriam: I wholeheartedly agree. Only love given freely is love - and fun.

  15. Amazing what you can inspire with so few words!

  16. 'Yellow Rose' Jasmine: Politicians are long-winded. The rest of us cut right through the stuff.

  17. Taxes...
Supposedly needed to pay for services WE "ALL" need...and the money seems to be squandered for things like a new TV.
Yuck. I work hard just like everyone else. Bills first. Then, if I feel that the monies are there, a new toy is alright. No money? NO toy. There is nothing for free....
Even love has to be worked for....
