Love & Hate

I Really Love:
1.   My Wife
2.   My Children
3.   My Dogs
4.   My Friends
5.   All Living Things
6.   Loyalty
7.   Integrity
8.   Sincerity
9.   Honesty
10. Kindness

I Really Hate:
1.  Anything That Hurts Children
2.  Anything That Hurts Animals
3.  Taking Advantage of Vulnerable People

4.  Excuses

5.  Disloyalty

6.  Abuse

7.  Bullying

8.  Lying
9.  Lack of Respect

10. Lack of Manners
Do you have a list? Or just a comment on mine?

    1. I can't disagree with any of the things on either of your lists. I would add that I hate people who blame everyone else but themselves for their own shortcomings.

    2. Karen M: Thank you. I can't imagine too many people would disagree, some might have other likes and dislikes.

Sarah P: Wow! I forgot that one. Blaming others for our shortcomings is a big NO NO in my life. I have drilled that into the minds of my children for years. I hope it took hold.

    3. I read both lists and said softly to myself, "Oh yes." And this agreement sounded and felt like a short line out of Evita. Loved that play/movie.

I feel some people now are a little short on respect, but I guess it's the "times."

Just dropped in to say "hi." A crazy month.
      Take care.....

    4. Hi JJ! Always glad to see you check in again. Hope your project is going well.
I think you may have covered Sarah's sentiment by saying no to excuses in general. Your list seems pretty good to me.
Sometimes it's hard not to fall into being something that we don't like seeing in others. I'm a work in progress. ;)
I'm glad you have been able to drill some good things into your kids heads. They should feel so privileged to have parents who give a darn. Not all of us got that benefit, so we pay attention to the world at large and change the messages for ourselves as adults.

    5. I Really Like
      1) A well written story. It doesn't have to be The Great American Novel. It just has to have fabulous character that are well drawn, or make me laugh, that come alive, that the author has successfully peeled away like an onion that I feel like I KNOW them.

      2) People who aren't afraid to let you know them.

      3) People who build someone up instead of tear them down. It isn't always easy to know how to help.

      4) People who commit themselves to a cause and then go for it. They remain committed. It is those people who change the world for good.

      5) People who have figured out that this life is one big school session and it all about learning lessons. For example, someone who can learns discernment. They could learn not to trust anyone ever, but they choose to go another way.

      Things I Hate
      1) People who understand that they are doing wrong and choose to do it anyway. They are not crazy; they are just morally bankrupt.

      2) People who can't, or won't, say I am sorry even when they know that they did something wrong. Erich Segal was wrong. Love does not mean never having to say you are sorry. It means you need to say it even MORE.

      3) People who won't take responsibility for their own actions. This is even more heinous when they are raising children who are modeling after them.

      4) Passing the buck. At work, at home, in life. You pick.

      5) Cowards. People who say horrible things to you on the phone or in a letter that they don't have the courage to say to your face. Now, if they don't have courage b.c. the other person has been abusive in the past, that is one thing, but if they just want to be mean and can only do it via phone or letter... I hate that.

I agree with all of the items on your list, too. Good list.

    6. I don't have a list, but I agree with your list on all of these things. I hope all is going well with you, JJ. Take care.

    7. Manzi: I'm with you on respect. Glad to hear from you. Hope all is well.

Jasmine: Trying to get anyone to avoid excuses is tough, much less attempting to explain the concept to kids.

Robin: I knew I could count on you for a great list. Cowardice comes in so many shapes and sizes. I with you!

Lynn: All is well. Great to hear from you! I have been enjoying your website.

    8. Our list would be very similar :)

    9. I've never thought of making a list before, but I like yours. For me I would add to your love list "pie," and your hate list "sushi," (sorry, I just never got into it :)
      Enjoy the day!!

    10. Wonderful post and I couldn't agree with you more! I would also add that I dislike people who are so wrapped up in themselves that they can't take a step back and look at an issue from someone elses point of view or people who are so arrogant that they believe that they know best regardless of their actual knowledge about the subject (I'm thinking about the UK's current Government)

      C x

    11. KB: I am hearing that from many of my blogging friends. Birds of a feather, flock together.

Miriam: I must agree with pie. However, I do love sushi.

Carol: There is very little about any government that I can say I love. Governments are not "living things."

    12. I don't have lists, but if I were to make them, they would be similar to yours.

    13. Rob-bear: Understood. I really don't have them either. I just made one for the post, but it took me a while to limit the number of entries. I guess there are many things on my mind.

    14. My list of loves would mirror yours JJ with the exception of wife..because mine would be husband & instead of dog, mine would be cat!

The things I hate pretty much mirror your list as well... but I would have deceit somewhere in there as well & War!
