One Great Big Happy Post!

Is there any wonder as to why I love my little Lylah so much? She is pictured above at only two months old. Look at those paws! Today, she is 110 pounds.

Lylah has been looking at me with those eyes for over six years now, and in all that time, there has never been a moment when she was disloyal or failed to love me right back.

Sometimes, when I tell my friends that I love dogs more than people, they look at me funny. Can you blame me? She is perfect!

Lylah, you have greatly enhanced my life. Thank you.

    1. joeh: You know, that is no lie. Dogs are known to lower one's blood pressure.

  2. You are so right! Animals are unconditional creatures... Loyal to the end! which, sadly some humans have no clue about.

  3. We are so on the same page right now. What is they say- the more I know about people, the more I like my dog?!
You make me feel great about being so obsessed with my dogs right now. It's hard to beat something that makes you feel as good as a dog does.
May we always be the kind of people our dogs think we are!

    1. Jasmine: I could never be what she thinks I am. When people remark that they are "just animals," my skin crawls. Canines are an integral part of Nature.

  4. I can't blame you. My late father loved his dog more than people as well. The dog had a long life, survived 2 times car accidents. After he died at 16 or 17, my father never had a dog again.

  5. I never thought of myself as a dog person. I've always liked cats and big dogs scared the crap out of me because I was bit in the face by one when I was 9yrs old.
Less than a year ago I walked into our local dog pound hoping to find a puppy that my fiance would like because he had to put one of his down. he didn't really want any- and then I saw HIM...
Black fur, white polka dotted fur on his belly- 3 months old and abandoned.
He is a mastiff mut mix. I went back and forth trying to decide if I wanted a big dog...Guess what- He's almost a year old and I love him more than the cat! I'm so attached to the big lug that he rarely leaves my side. His name is Deuce and I honestly can't picture my life without him.
    Great post.

    1. I can understand the trauma of a dog bite. However, once you get to love those canines, they really do change your life. Thanks for stopping by!

Funny, I was just thanking Simon Cat for all his love, attention, and entertainment this morning.

  12. JJ,

That is the sweetest, most instantly-brought-a-smile-to-my-face post I've read in a long, long time:)

    *Thanks* for sharing:)

  13. Dogs are such wonderful creatures. No matter how you talk to them, their tails wag with love. I miss my own Mister Tony Tulips, a black labrador who I was crazy about.

  14. I did a four-part post last year about the loyalty of dogs, and had some super pics to go with it. One of my favorite quotes from that series is, "The one absolutely unselfish friend that man can have in the selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous, is his dog." [George Graham]

Ain't that the truth?! Dogs are ALWAYS happy to see you come home, too. (Even if all ya did is walk to the mailbox...)
